Photo Week #27
A collection of good food I ate this week - cooked by me! I felt this urge to clean out the refrigerator/freezer but also cook somewhat new things, and am happy with the results.
- Garlic pasta (old, frozen from Trader Joe's) with shrimp and the last dredges of a spinach box
- My Sweetgreen kale Caesar imitation with pre-marinated carne asada skirt steak from Sprouts
- Using a very, very, very old box of puff pastry (how old? I wouldn't be surprised if it was from like 2021) and also the last carton of shelf-stable milk for a beef pot pie. Or whatever it is when there's only crust on the top and not on the bottom.
- I still have a lot of braised beef shank from July 4th (oops) and made the beef rolls again to finish up the pack of green onion pancakes and use up more meat. And also the last bits of the kale salad! And as the main protein, salt and white pepper ribs because we had people over for dinner and when I cook a rack of ribs for just the three of us, we always have too many leftovers. So it felt like a good opportunity.
- Turkey larb butter lettuce cups - ok, this was with all new ingredients, and I actually bought herbs that I normally don't have around to make this turkey larb. So hopefully next week I can figure out a way to use up those herbs...

This past weekend, since Jamie was visiting, we went to Berkeley for Cheeseboard and Muir Woods. Cheeseboard was just as good as I remembered!
