Photo Week #28

A couple of treats from this past week - a molasses ginger cookie (my favorite flavor), a fun surprise on my matcha, and Junie "reading" by herself. Hopefully she continues to leave reading! Selfishly, I would love for her to be able to amuse herself on her own and reading is great way to do that (as it was for me as a kid too). But I was at a gathering with other moms and kids the other day and someone commented on how Junie was doing great at playing by herself - and I think it's partly because there were just so many new toys that she had so much to play with, and also because it takes a little while for her to warm up to other kids so she didn't want to play with them. So all in all, I should be grateful that she's already pretty independent.

But it would still be great if she loved reading. I am imagining all the book series I loved growing up, and getting to share that with her.. so fun.
